American flintlock pistols came in numerous styles and were influenced by English, French, Dutch, and Spanish styling. Some were works of art with beautifully carved stocks and fancy inlays. Our reproduction is an accurate representation of a typical American flintlock pistol. It features a comfortable grip, brass hardware, and French style lock.

 English- Dutch Doglock Pistol

This Doglock pattern pistol came into common use in the 17th Century and replaced the Jacobean and Snaphaunce locks of earlier models.  British Sea Service Pistol

Introduced in 1716, the Sea Service Pistol would see widespread use around the globe aboard the ships of the British Navy during the 18th and early 19th Century. In the Americas too, it was used from as early as King George’s War all the way through the War of 1812. In fact, it continued in production, with only slight variation, for more than 85 years. The 1716/77 Sea Service Pistol is distinguished from the Land Service Pistol of the same period by its plain buttcap (as opposed to the Land Service Pistol’s “long-eared” buttcap), lack of stock swell, and by its utilitarian belt hook. Our Reproduction Our reproduction 1716/77 British Sea Service captures the beauty and utility of this long-lived favorite of naval warfare. It is stocked in darkly stained hardwood and features a 12 inch barrel surrounded at the tang by a raised apron. Brass hardware compliments the bright barrel and lock while the integrated belt hook makes for easy carrying about ones person. The weapon suits a variety of impressions, points well, has no visible modern markings. Like all of our weapons, it comes with a limited warranty and has been proofed for safety. The hammer has been adequately hardened and comes with a lifetime re-hardening guarantee. This model was produced in the 1730s and remained in this basic form and was adopted by the British Navy at its pattern in 1756 and carried into the Napoleonic Wars and beyond.   Overall Length: 19.5 inches Barrel: 12 inches Bore: Smoothbore Caliber: .62 cal. Lock: Flintlock Suggested Ball: .595-.600 As seen in Battle Weapons of the American Revolution by George C. Neumann.  Made in India

 British Heavy Dragoon Pistol

The 1738 Land Service (Heavy Dragoon) Pistol is as legendary as it is beautiful. It featured the distinctive “long-ear’d” buttcap, elliptical aprons, and stock swell, and was produced, with minor variations, from the 1740’s to the 1790’s. It was constructed in two calibers - either pistol-bore (.56 cal.) or carbine-bore (.66 cal.). The handgun’s lock maintained the unique “banana shape” and incorporated a double bridle. The 1738 Pistol saw action in the French & Indian War, Revolutionary War, frontier actions, and even was used as late as the War of 1812. Our Reproduction Our reproduction 1738 Land Service (Heavy Dragoon) Pistol is a faithful recreation of this important arm. It features a .62 caliber barrel, hardwood stock, and bright finish. The stock’s distinctive swell and ornate aprons are complimented by the polished brass hardware including long-eared buttplate and rounded sideplate. The weapon points well, requires no defarbing, and has proper lock markings. It comes with a limited warranty, and has been proofed for safety. The hammer has been adequately hardened and comes with a lifetime re-hardening guarantee. Developed as a scaled down version of the Long Land Brown Bess Pattern Musket this pistol pattern of 1738 and continued in use for several decades and was carried by both American Colonials as well as the British Forces. This pistol was quite popular through the French and Indian Wars and was carried for well beyond but was replaced with a smaller and lighter version in the 1760s. A very elegant pistol with raised carvings and Brass hardware. As seen in George C. Neumans Battle Weapons of the American Revolution. Overall Length: 19.5 inches Barrel: 12 inches Bore: Smoothbore. We have bore sizes of .60 and .62 in stock presently Made in India

The Trapper pistol’s primitive-style adjustable rear sight, octagonal barrel and doubleset triggers (capable of firing set or unset) allow you to predictably put your shots on target.
